McG is a native Torontonian who resides Downtown, not far from where he was born and raised. Over the past ten years his community involvement includes volunteering for Casey House Hospice as a Support Care Volunteer, the Central Canada Gay Rodeo Association, as their Sponsorship Director and Volunteer Coordinator and most recently he became a member of Spearhead LDSC Toronto. Currently McG holds the titles of Mr. Bootblack Eagle 2009, Bootblack Toronto 2009 and recently he was awarded the title of International Mr. Bootblack 2009 at IML this past May 2009. McG is only the second Canadian and first Bootblack Toronto titleholder to win this prestigious title. McG becomes the third Bootblack Toronto titleholder to also win the Brotherhood Award at IML, which was presented to him on stage during the Saturday evening event. McG follows in the boots of his mentor Black-Jack Pearce, Bootblack Toronto 2008 who won the Brotherhood Award in 2008, and “cub” Ron Tummon, Bootblack Toronto 2005, who won the award in 2005. McG has been working along side his co-title holder’s Peter Dillon, Mr. Leatherman Toronto 2009 and Corey Breau, Mr. Leather Fellowship 2009 raising awareness on behalf of their chosen partner charity Casey Home Hospice via fund-raising events, community outreach and attending various bar nights across the Greater Toronto Area. In his new title, International Mr. Bootblack 2009, McG will be traveling to many cities throughout the world teaching and mentoring Bootblacks in addition to hosting Leathercare and bootblacking workshops and fund-raising on behalf of different charities. McG will be representing his title and his sponsors at upcoming pride events, in addition to judging various contests and raising the Bootblack profile.
